WHAT ARE DUELING PIANOS?

A form of entertainment, usually on stage with two pianos, each played by a professional player who sings and entertains. Humor is prevalent, and audience participation is encouraged! Our show is all request-based so the genres of music we perform depend on the crowd that night. We tend to play a lot of classic rock and pop, occasionally accented by some R&B, country and rap each night.

HOW MUCH IS THE PIANO SHOW TICKET?

Pricing generally starts at $14 per person but please view our ticketing page to view the most updated ticket prices, which supports the piano players and pays for your experience that evening!

WHAT TIME DOES AUSSIE RULES PIANO BAR TAKE RESERVATIONS?

Fridays & Saturdays between 5 pm and 8 pm. Our time slots are limited and based on availability when you book.

I’M RUNNING LATE! WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

We give all reservations a half hour of leeway in case they are running late due to bad traffic or weather. After that, your tables may be given away to walk-ins. We will always try to answer any calls or messages that are left because your group is running late, but on busier nights this can be difficult, so we make no promises.

WHEN DO PIANOS START?

  • Fridays at 7:30pm
  • Saturdays at 8:00pm

CAN I REALLY DANCE ON THE CHAIRS? WHAT ABOUT THE TABLES?

Dance on those chairs all you like! Just be careful and safe – we want everyone to have a good time! DO NOT dance on the tables – they were unfortunately not built as durably as our chairs and were not made for adults to stand on them.

HOW DOES SEATING FOR RESERVATIONS WORK?

Our finalized floor plan is based on when you made the reservation compared to other groups. We do not finalize the floor plan until the day of the reservation due to fluctuating group sizes and cancellations. On the night of your reservation, a section of tables all together will be provided to accommodate your group. This section may consist of booths, high tables, low tables, or any combination of these three. Groups are not guaranteed to get one large table or booth, but rather smaller ones in the same section. If you have a request for specific seating, though, be sure to let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your group’s request.

ARE RESERVATIONS NECESSARY? DOES AUSSIE RULES PIANO BAR ACCEPT WALK-INS?

Reservations are not necessary, but they are recommended. We cannot guarantee seating for your group without them. Walk-ins are welcome, but it may be standing room only if all of our tables are reserved. The only time we turn people away at the door is when we’ve reached capacity.

WHAT’S AUSSIE RULES PIANO BAR’S CAPACITY?

250 people.

DOES AUSSIE RULES PIANO BAR ALLOW MINORS?

No, our publicly available nights are 18+. Please remember to bring current government-issued photo ID in case our door staff ask you to present it.

DOES AUSSIE RULES PIANO BAR HOST PRIVATE EVENTS? ARE MINORS ALLOWED DURING THESE EVENTS?

We absolutely host private events! Inquire for more information with [email protected]. We are licensed to serve minors if you would like to host a private event with us; please be sure to let us know you intend to have some minors at your event so we can ensure the songs played are kept appropriate for them.

DOES AUSSIE RULES PIANO BAR EVER SEND THEIR PIANISTS TO OTHER LOCATIONS FOR OTHER EVENTS?

WHAT FOOD DOES AUSSIE RULES PIANO BAR SERVE?

We have a full pub-style menu available every night that we are publicly open. We also offer items such as our platters for pre-order with your reservation. These pre-ordered items must be ordered one week prior to your reservation.

We also offer multi-course dinners, please contact us.

CAN I BRING IN A CAKE?

Yes – it must be purchased from a licensed vendor (a store or a bakery). PLEASE NOTE: Aussie Rules is a peanut-free facility. Please make sure your cake does not contain peanuts.

CAN I BRING BALLOONS?

Yes, but if they are obstructing another party’s view when the pianos start that evening, our doormen may ask if they can keep them by the entrance until your group leaves at the end of the night, so everyone can enjoy the show!

WHAT ABOUT DÉCOR FOR THE TABLE?

Feel free to come in and decorate your own table. The only outside décor that we do not allow is confetti since it’s difficult to clean up at the end of the night. Everything else is welcome! We also offer Stagette Packages and Birthday Packages if you want some celebratory décor coupled with delicious food and drinks! These packages must be pre-ordered one week prior to your event to ensure availability of all items.

HOW CAN I GET HOME SAFELY AT THE END OF THE NIGHT?

We have a direct cab line available in our lobby – you can use it to call a cab any time! We’ve also recently partnered with Calgary Luxury Limousine and we can book you a One-Way or Two-Way Limo Trip with your reservation! These limo booking must be planned at least one week in advance and are subject to availability. You can also plan ahead and have a designated driver.
